Wired Network Connection
If your game console, smart TV, or streaming device supports a wired network, then use the data jack in your room to get on the NWU network. You will need a network cable to make the connection and NOT a telephone cable. Data jacks are the black ports on wall plates or on the bottom of the white wireless access point mounted to the wall. Ask a PA or residential education worker if you need help locating this port.
Wireless Network Connection
The NWU-media wireless network is specifically intended for game consoles, smart TV’s, and streaming devices.
- Go to this link. This website is designed to walk you through the process of registering your game consoles, smart TV’s, or streaming device prior to joining the wireless network.
- Answer a series of questions about your device and provide your NWU username/password to authenticate your request. Use the same username and password you use for Blackboard, WebAdvisor, etc.
- Your device registration has been submitted. It will take 2-4 hours for our database to update. You will join your device to the NWU-media wireless network.
There is no restriction on the number of devices that can be registered, but re-registration will be required periodically. You will receive an email alert when the device registration needs to be renewed. Registration renewals are handled through the same link.
For questions or help with connecting your devices to the network, either go to our page here on the WITS site, contact the CS/IT office located in Smith-Curtis Room 121, or call 402-465-2341.
