Blackboard is a web-based learning management system that provides remote access to online courses and supplementary course materials.

Syllabi and class assignments can be posted, and discussion boards or useful web links can be made available. Blackboard is utilized by NWU professors to provide educational assistance outside the classroom. Some of Blackboard’s many tools include the ability to view grades, see the names and emails of other students in your classes, post classroom messages to a discussion board, download classroom documents, and other tools to supplement classroom instruction. Anything that you would find yourself doing in the regular classroom you may be able to find available in Blackboard according to your professor’s discretion.

Blackboard can be accessed at or by following the links found on the CS/IT or Wesleyan Current Students websites.
